27 bounded children who worked as residential domestic servants in Lahore - Peace Ambassadors Pakistan
Lahore, Pakistan: February 01, 2010, (PCTV Newsdesk)Peace Ambassadors Pakistan celebrated whole day with bounded servitude Children on 31st January, 2010 in Lahore.
There were 27 bounded children who work as residential domestic servants in Lahore.
The program started with the prayer for Shazia Bashir who is found killed during =r domestic services.
The program was lead by a Young College Student Anser Yousaf who has done a study on Child servitudes as per of his GOLBAL YOUTH PROJECT.
The program was dialogical and participatory in which the children shared their =mplaints and hard life stories.
Some of the stories about:
01. oppressive and violent attitudes of the masters;
02. The range of labor =om unfixed work timings – risk works – sex slaveries;
03. The verbal and physical violence in case of complaint;
04. The non supportive and non advocacy of the parents in any complain;
05. And instead instructing us to be obedient to our masters as per of our Christian religious obligation.
Anser Yousaf concluded the Child laborers – Parent and the family women including mothers and sisters if attempt to support Gaps. This builds up non respect attitudes from the children to their parents; and thus they accept the “anyhow – atmosphere” of their masters.
In addition are the lack of mutual neighborhood support, fear of persecutions, fear of being involved in false police cases, fear of defeatism if proceed and a lot other factors.
This whole violence mechanism builds pessimism within the child laborers which further bring various side effects such as:
01. Inferior and hate approach towards one’s self;
02. Hot-temperaments, anger and violent attitudes =thin families and children; Parents – children gaps
03. Shaken trusts on God and their fellow human beings;
04. Sleeplessness and Horror dreams;
05. Snub Attitude in their justice and right Issues;
06. Doubts and rebellious psyche even towards their well wishers and supporters;
07. Various stresses and phobias
Mrs. Shaheen Tufail Gill, A consular and therapist shared that these children are =lled with anger and rebellious attitudes. She gave few of the following examples:
- While seeing the school children going to school I really want to give them hammer strokes till they die;
- I want to run away from my house;
- I confess that the care and compassion of my Ustad (Employer of the child =bor) make me to surrender to his sexual abuse;
- I feel painful when I see the cheerful children of my age;
- The usage of drug escapes me from my pessimism;
- I face a whole day long verbal and physical subjugations that hurt me;
- Who is responsible for our stolen smiles?
- My father has taken the cash in advanced from my Ustad (Employer of the child labor) and my father has asked me to be obedient to my Ustad;
- I hate the none child laborers;
- My bonded servitude has actually put me in sex slavery.
Mr. Inderias Dominic Bhatti mapped the risks in child servitudes and gave examples of Good masters and good parents as well. He pleaded the civil society, state, UNO and International community to come forward to share in their initiative in building a consciousness of contentment and peace among these children. The =ntentment and peace through:
01. Listening with passion;
02. Believing in them;
03. sharing the complains of their children to the =sters;
04. Being in contact with them;
05. Advocating and lobbying rights and justice;
06. Build societal respect to them.
He warned that these children will otherwise adopt aggressive, rebellious and =iminal mentalities which will build big walls among the common children and the bounded servitude children.
