JOY (Jesus Owns You) Koinonia Pakistan hoping for more blessings in 2010

Rawalpindi, Pakistan: January 12, 2010, (PCTV Newsdesk)

JOY (Jesus Owns You) Koinonia is a Catholic charismatic group founded and chaired by Rev. Father James Shamaun, a Roman Catholic Priest of Islamabad/Rawalpindi Diocese

The very exact meaning of JOY KOINONIA is “The fellowship of the people bought by the precious and healing blood of Jesus Christ that he shed on the cross at Calvary.”

JOY Koinonia relates the joy that we get from Jesus. St. Paul describes in his letter to first Corinthians 6:20 “you are not your own; you were bought with a price so glorify God in your body.”  It shows that Jesus bought us with His blood. So He is master and architect of our life and designs us for everlasting joy and life. So JOY Koinonia intends to bring people closer to Jesus and try to build a true faith in Christians

Fr. James participated in the International Charismatic Seminars. He was greatly blessed to keep his work unabatedly. He was a greatly impress by Fr. Aliah from Malta, who visited Rawalpindi twice on the invitation of Fr. James Shamaun. People present at church and at houses were greatly blessed, miracles happened during the Healing service conducted by Fr. Aliah and Fr. James.

Joy Koinonia was established in December 2005 within its beginning there were 300 registered members but there were more than two thousands in 2009. These members included Catholic, Protestant, and even Muslim families It has an Executive Board that consists of eleven members. These board members are subordinating of chairman and they have different responsibilities. The board members are very dedicated and devoted to their mission. They arranged different programs and visited members and non members and keep a true fellowship with them.

While Fr. James Shamaun  was serving  as Parish Priest of Saint Joseph Catholic Cathedral, Lalkurti,  Rawalpindi, JOY Koinonia  was using this church for their Wednesday worship, full night services, yearly conventions, seminars, and intercessors and youth meetings etc. In 2009 Fr. James was transferred in Kohat city as Parish Priest. Due to this transfer the doors of the Saint Joseph Catholic Cathedral were closed for JOY Koinonia. The group started their weekly worship in Fatima Villa, Rawalpindi. This location was a far away from the majority members so JOY Koinonia board has hired a hall of Lamp Fellowship International near Murairh Hassan Chowk, Rawalpindi for their weekly Wednesday worship.

The board members hoping more blessings in 2010. They are also planning to start intercessors and youth meetings in coming days.
